What is Asperger's Syndrome (AS)?

Asperger's Syndrome is an Autism Spectrum Disorder which is thought to be a neurobiological abnormality (a neurological disorder).  Currently,  Autism Spectrum Disorders affect 1 in 150 people in the United States. This is based on diagnosed and documented cases. According to Tony Attwood, a leading expert in the field, Asperger's Syndrome is characterized by a number of impairments that affect language, social behavior, motor clumsiness, cognition, interests and routine, and sensory sensitivity.
